Difficulties of decoding:
- Software doesn’t always work
- Specialist software and knowledge is needed to be able to decode
Decoded Questions and Answers (& how we did it):
The first question couldn’t be decoded due to broken software.
The second question was decoded using UTF8 hexadecimal converter. The question was: What was the first full length computer generated feature film?
We used the knowledge of our group and internet search engines to find the answer (Toy Story).
The third question was decoded using Base 64 encoder / decoder. We found out through trial and error that we needed to use the decode and download button.
The decoded question: What are the sixty-four characters used to encode Base 64?
We used search engines and online encyclopedias e.g. Wikipedia to find the list of characters.
